Approvals

An unapproved record can be printed but will not pass the gate

Accreditation is not saying yes to a list. In AccredZone the security approval is the record's own status, and the gate check queries it directly: scan an unapproved card and the gate stays closed.

Security approval

One status, honoured everywhere in the system

  • Waiting / approved / rejectedEvery person record carries a security status. The result of a police or security screening is written into that field.
  • The gate reads it directlySecurity status is one of the first things checked at a gate; a card that is not approved is refused before the zone requirement is even considered.
  • Bulk approvalHundreds of records are approved or rejected in one action; it is bound to its own permission, so not everyone can do it.
  • Bulk editingUnit changes and bulk field updates run from one screen, so late list corrections do not mean opening records one by one.

Internal requests

Requests between departments live here too

What one department needs from another — extra accreditation, an upgrade, a vehicle card, equipment — does not get lost in email. A request is opened, it has an owner, its state is visible, and it leaves a record when it closes.

  • Request, owner, statusEvery request has an opening department, a target department and a current state; nobody has to argue about who asked for what.
  • Rejection reasons are keptMedia applications, volunteer applications, vehicle accreditations and list invitations all store the rejection reason on the record.
  • Audit trailApprovals, rejections and edits are written to the audit log with who, when and what changed.
